Musing on reading themes

I have noticed that of late I seem to end up with themes in my reading, mostly by accident.
A while ago it was the Cathars being referenced in quite a few things I read, sometimes expected, sometimes not.
Lately I have had Afghanistan and Queens.
The Afghanistan one was mostly due to book recommendations from other people, and I thought I had done with that a while ago, but a book caught my eye in Kirkstall Library today, and it is a novel about 1850s Afghanistan - so perhaps I am not so done with that.
The Queens theme seems to have been dominating at the moment, I have just completed a biography of Katherine Howard, and a novel about Queen Emma (C11), and am currently reading a book on Elizabeth Woodville. My to-be-read pile also has a book about the soverign Queens of England. I really didn't plan this - I have no idea how I ended up with so many books on this theme all at once.
