I learnt something!

I have not been at work today as I have not been so well. But the day has not been a complete waste.
Not only have I actually done some study, and finally feel like I am making some progress, but I have learnt a new technique in knitting.
I was almost at the end of the ball of wool, and needed to join a new ball on, and was wondering what technique was best. A very helpful online friend of mine suggested a method that I had never heard of (the Russian join). I was a little wary, but for the first time I have taught myself a new skill (as opposed to having Mum teach me) from pictures and videos online.
On the plus side, I also don't hurt so much - although this does mean I have to go back to work tomorrow, which is less good.
