18: Set in Darkness Ian Rankin
This was the May book group choice. It was the first Rebus novel I have read, and I do want to read more. I liked the characters and the twisty plot very much. For all the dark reputation, there were some lighter touches too, which I particularly enjoyed.
19: Fire in the Thatch E.C.R. Lorac [Kindle]
This is the second novel I have read by Lorac, and I enjoyed it as much as the first. The mystery was very good, and I did not get the twist at the end at all. Some of the characters were great, but there was a large amount of town/country snobbery too, but in that respect it was very much of its time.
20: Cat Among the Pigeons Agatha Christie [Kindle]
This is a Poirot novel I haven't read before, and it is the inaugural choice for a new online book group I have joined. It isn't one on the tv often either, so I wasn't hugely familiar with the plot. I did like the plot, characters, and twists though. Very enjoyable.
21: Mog's Christmas Calamity Judith Kerr
It was all I had to hand. It had to be done.
22: Murder on the Tracks [Kindle]
Good selection of short story mysteries from the late Victorian to the Golden Era. Very nostalgic for a time when the trains could be relied upon either for a crime or an alibi!
