41: The Nine Guardians Rosario Castellanos

This was the October choice for the book group, and I did not enjoy it at all. For all the plaudits, it was very poorly written. I found the characters to be very stereotypical, the plot was disjointed, and it just seemed very pretentious. I was in a minority of one though, as everyone else seemed to like it.

42: The Secret of High Eldersham Miles Burton [Kindle]

The plot of this wasn't great, certainly the supernatural and witch's coven theme has been done far better (not everyone can be Agatha Christie though) - the characters were also nothing special, and certainly not enough to make me want to read more in this series.

43: Witch is when it all began Adele Abbott

This, on the other hand, was very, very funny, and I do want to read more in the series. A good light-hearted read.

44: The Norman Conquest Marc Morris

This was excellent, very well written and researched, and yet still very readable. I would definitely recommend this to any one interested in the period.

45: Elizabeth is Missing Emma Healey

This was the November choice for the book group, and I enjoyed it a lot. Very well written, and funny, which is especially hard when your main character has dementia. Good plot too.
