I have been stitching and knitting more lately, and I think this is a good sign - particularly that I am stiching more.

Anyhow, I finally finished the socks I have been making myself for ages - I kept putting them down to knit other things. The pattern is called Wishbone Socks, by Nancy Bush, and the pattern was in Interweave Piecework (Mum gets me a subscription for my birthday every year, it was about time I made something)

(please excuse the state of my living room)

I have also done a birthday card for the lovely [livejournal.com profile] dawn9163, and she seemed to like it, so all was well.

If you want to get to grips with knitting socks, I recommend googling for Silver's sock class - I used this and it took me right through the process (but I ignored the bit where you are supposed to do 1x1 rib all the way to the ankle!) - and I still use her instructions whenever I forget how to do Kitchener stich (which is nearly every time I do a sock toe)

The lace pattern on these socks wasn't too bad as lace goes, and Nancy Bush writes excellent patterns, so surprisingly this turned into 'talking kniting' - I wasn't expecting that.

I've found that and it does look very easy to follow so have bookmarked it for that day in the future when I have time to try new stuff. Thank you
