A couple of recent finishes

Firstly, I have finally finished the socks I started as a knit-along with the last series of Strictly Come Dancing

I have also entered the Easter competition at baa ram ewe - to knit a cover for a polystrene egg. I entered this:



To make the leaf/stem I knitted loads and loads of i-cord, finishing it with a leaf. As this was in cream 4ply I had left over from a previous competition, and I wanted it to be green, I decided to dip-dye it in the slow cooker, follwing these instructions from Knitty. I am quite pleased with how it came out, and have plans to have another go at dip-dyeing like this.

The socks are really nice! How long did it take to finish them would you say? I started making some years ago but I got fed up.. x

These, I have been working on the second sock for about 3-4 weeks I suppose. But not very diligently - I have finished a pair in 2 weeks, but they were a simpler pattern, and I wasn't knitting anything else at the same time.
This pattern required a bit of concentration, so I didn't take them to work/knitting nights/seeing friends like I do with some socks.

Also, I have knitted the egg thing in the time between starting and finishing the second sock ...
