A couple of recent finishes

Firstly, I have finally finished the socks I started as a knit-along with the last series of Strictly Come Dancing

I have also entered the Easter competition at baa ram ewe - to knit a cover for a polystrene egg. I entered this:

To make the leaf/stem I knitted loads and loads of i-cord, finishing it with a leaf. As this was in cream 4ply I had left over from a previous competition, and I wanted it to be green, I decided to dip-dye it in the slow cooker, follwing these instructions from Knitty. I am quite pleased with how it came out, and have plans to have another go at dip-dyeing like this.

Also, I have knitted the egg thing in the time between starting and finishing the second sock ...
