These photos don't represent any one day of the holiday, as we were in and around Marbella (and Elviria) all week.
In one of the brief moments it stopped raining on the sunday, I managed to get a reasonable picture of the beach:

I really liked the round bay here.
To shelter from the rain a little we went to the Bonsai Museum in Marbella:

We had a really nice time here, the age of some of the plants was amazing! I really liked this area in the centre of the museum though, as it looked so like the traditional Chinese and Japanese gardens I learned about on Around the World in 80 Gardens.
Marbella Old Town is very pretty and 'Spanish looking' - and also very shady, which was a boon when the sun came out:

I particularly liked the Moorish influences still visable on the houses:

- you could also see this in the fountain outside Dave & Mia's flat:

(the first floor window - second floor for my transatlantic friends - is that belonging to the spare room, so this fountain was the view Bryn and I had for the week. Nice!
This fountain however, was part of a lovely walk down to the beach, that also hid an underground carpark. Nifty!

Just to finish things off, we had a beah barbeque on the Wednesday night - and this was the sunset we were treated to:

Can't beat it, can you? ;)

Date: 2008-04-30 08:37 pm (UTC)We saw a pretty nice one tonight, but a posh Dutch suburb can't really touch a Spanish beach with fishermen and mountain.
