pandop 5: If Walls Could Talk Lucy Worsley
Very interesting, but rather lightweight in places, especially regarding 21st century life - I clearly got the impression she didn't look much about her bubble for those bits. Have read/listened to better books on this subject, which is a shame, as I had been looking forward to this.
6: The Accidental Ali Smith
This was the book club choice for February. I quite enjoyed the previous Ali Smith we read, but this was complete and utter pretentious twaddle. A contrived plot with no real story, awful, and unbelievable characters, it just seemed like an exercise in trying to be clever.
7: Blue Lightening Ann Cleeves [Kindle]
I enjoyed this so much, even though it was also rather sad. I knew what was going to have happened by the end, so I wasn't as shocked as I might have been, but instead I was tense waiting for it to happen. The main plot was very well done, and the writing of a bunch of 'random' people (albeit with a shared interest) in a closed and claustrophobic environment was excellent.
