35: The Forever War Joe Haldeman
This was September's book club book, and it lead to some good discussion. On the whole I enjoyed this, although I had some reservations about the happy ending - I was pleased by it, but also felt it was a bit cliched. Love the name of the planet they eventually settled on though.
36: Signal for Vengance Edward Marston
Another enjoyable book in this series - and some surprising character development, it appears that Tallis has a heart ...
37: Black Dog Neil Gaiman
Another Shadow short story with a very interesting folklore twist. Good to have read these now I am finally getting round to watching American Gods ....
38: How the Marquis got his Coat Back Neil Gaiman
Neverwhere this time, nice expansion of the universe and of the Marquis' background. Good story.
39: The Secret Lives of the Amir Sisters Nadiya Hussain
Nadiya's novel! I wanted to like this, and I am so glad I could - the characters and the plot are excellent. I would love to read more about the Amir family, I loved their stories.
40: The White Cottage Mystery Margery Allingham
I am not sure about this one. I did like the plot twist/reveal at the end, but the rest of the story didn't do much for me. Even by the standards of the time it is very sexist and classist, and the characters weren't very believable. I especially don't like the way that Allingham wrote about other women.
