Young Sherlock Holmes
I was glad I noticed this was on, as I love this film. It is silly, funny, but still manages to stay in the spirit of the original stories.
The Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe
This is a brilliant adaptation - and it was nice to watch the film again after seeing some of the weapons at the Weta exhibition last year.
The Polar Express
I liked this more on second viewing than I did when I saw it at the cinema. This is a lovely story, and very well done.
The Incredibles
Much as I liked this when I saw it at the cinema, I found it funnier on this second viewing. It is very, very clever, in the way that the best cartoons are.
March of the Penguins
This was fascinating, although it does strike me that penguins haven't hit on the most efficient means of reproduction ... I would have loved to have seen this on the big screen, as I am sure some of the cinematography must have been amazing in large.
Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
Even though there are a lot of changes from the book, I do still love this film. It keeps the spirit of the book, and the casting is just perfect.
Sherlock Holmes
This was definitely a Guy Ritchie take on Sherlock Holmes - but I did enjoy it very much, there was the right level of funny and violence, and I enjoyed the case too.
Easy Virtue
I regret missing this at the cinema now, as I thought this was brilliant. I loved the way they made modern music sound like it belonged in the 20s. This was brilliantly funny (as Noel Coward generally is), and I adored the ending.
Dirty Dancing
Having seen the Team Cola show dance, I felt this deserved another watch - especially as Mum hadn't seen it. I don't think there is anything to say, other than I still love this as much as ever.
