Driffield Show & Dolls Houses at Beswick

A couple of weeks ago (yes I know I am behind in my posting) Mum and I went to Driffield Show, as neither of us had been for ages. I had forgotten how huge it is! There was plenty to see, but a shortage of both loos and places to sit.
I particularly enjoyed the craft/horticulture tent, and it is a shame there is nothing like that in Bridlington now. I am sure I could have made a good showing against some of the knitting/cross stitch entries. Perhaps I shall have a look at entering something in Leeds some time.
I managed to spend a fair amount of money on bits and bats, some for the swap I just did, and some things for me - which included getting new ideas for things to do with flapjacks (if I ever remember to buy any oats)
There was a small display of angora goats - but all they had for sale were ready made socks, no yarn or fleece (probably a good thing considering my finances ;) )

There were plenty of sheep there, but it was very hard to get photos of them, I don't think they expected anyone but those competing to be interested. Still, I managed to get these two photos:

I loved seeing the heavy horses and their foals all decorated - and the foals are gorgeous. Huge, but little, all at once:

I bought myself a fair few plants in the horticulture tent, and saw this gorgeous Agapanthus display - I didn't get any of these, but I must get some for the back garden:

More randomly I also saw a row of coracles:

The next evening I joined Mum on her TG evening outing to see a collection of dolls houses out at Beswick. The woman must have had 50 between 2 barns, and the amount of detail was wonderful - there were so many cunning little things to look at :) It didn't do anything for curing the dolls house bug of mine - I still want one. The trouble seems to be stopping at one though ....
I was very amused by the brothel, but wonder what some of the other TG ladies thought about it ...
