I have just had some really interesting cataloguing training, mostly centred around The Spectator - and how to catalogue some really old printed volumes (mostly they are old enough to be going into Special Collections when I am done with them) . We also found yet more oddities in the catalogue that need to be sorted out.

I know this isn't run-of-the-mill cataloguing, but it does confirm to me that this is the area I want to work in. I like solving the puzzle of how best to describe something so that people can find it, and use it  - and, well, I like things to be tidy.

So, I get to start next week by doing some fiendishly complicated cataloguing, and I am really looking forward to it.
