Three films this month, and 2 at the cinema! Go me!
The Incredible Hulk
The first of the two films I saw at the cinema this month. Not bad overall, considering how difficult it is/has been to film the Hulk stories. Entertaining cameo's/voice choices. Liked Edward Norton as Banner. Liv Tyler was way underused. Good monstery/fighty bits. Things went boom. More below.
Hulk
Saw this on tv the weekend after having seen The Incredible Hulk - until I saw the end I didn't realise that I was dealing with a prequel/sequel - the differences were huge, in particular in how he became the Hulk. The fight scenes were not so good, and I didn't like Bana as Banner (heeee, almost the same) as much as I liked Norton. This really suffers in comparison to the sequel.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspain
I never got around to seeing the film version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, so I came to this with a clean slate and no expectations - and I really enjoyed it. Good adaptation of what is a difficult book to do (and they couldn't really get away with what the BBC did and make it 1/3 of the length of LWW). Gorgeous costumes and hair - I really want Susan's purple dress, and the mail/corset outfit (think that would get past kit check at Regia? ;) ), and I must learn how to do my own hair like that (or at all really). I haven't seen/read this for a while, and I had forgotten how much I want to slap Peter in this one, he is far, far more irritating than Edmund is in LWW
