I have a garden!

Well, at last I have a garden I can do things with! After a considerable amount of faffing with different people we finally found a good gardener, so we let him at it.

I know it still isn't perfect, and that the shape isn't great, but it would have been far too expensive to do anything other than repair the terraces that were already there, so although I have a large garden, I have a lot of small spaces.

Well this is what I started with:

and this is what I have ended up with:

Quite a change (sorry about the size, the resizing isn't being very co-operative).

Although this does mean that I now have to go out and do things with it, after ignoring it for so long. I do have plans, I have had plans for a while, although I have changed them recently to incorporate some yoga space! Doing the gardening would be good exercise too   - so even less of an excuse not to do it.

All being well I will have a garden warming party soon, now that the garden is no longer a danger to life and limb!

Some more highlights:

Things that grow!

A vist from Gracie!

Thanks - I am so pleased I have a space I want to spend time in at last

Herbs! I love herbs. Used to have about 200 varities then when I moved south the house was old and my herb patch got tarmac for scramble bikes.

Know what you are going to do with the rest? If I do make it through at some point I will make sure I raid my mum's greenhouse for homeless plants if you wish.

It's one thing I miss, is the garden. We have a few pots and a cracking view that makes up for the lack of cultivated stuff.

I am thinking of low maintenance planting for most of it. Less grass. Some veggie beds and a shed and greenhouse

Thanks for the plant offer, much appreciated

Veggies are high maintenance :( we've just got chilli and tomato plant at the moment. That's enough. I know I will forget to water them.

I know, that is why I want the rest to be low maintenance!
