Fair enough. I thought it might be a symbol that all new drivers have to display... here in Oz you have L for Learner, and P for Provisional, so I thought E for... Experienced? Educated?

We have P for provisional here too (although displaying it isn't compulsory yet), but youn don't stay provisional for ever !
