Your photos are lovely, thanks for including them to set the scene. You sure covered lots of ground in your studies and it's good to hear that you librarians kept the barmaids on their toes.
Your tales of travel by rails brought back memories of having been stuck in Crewe myself (with my sister waiting for me at Machester Picadilly) It's a lonely station, not a heck of a lot to do and you'd worry about busy something should it show up.
