Thanks to the wonders of perspex (or the like), we could get really close to the lions:



I did get a photo of the baby giraffe:



All in all it was a good day at Whipsnade, despite the photo disappointment. I saw everything I wanted to see, and will have some good memories of the day.

Some favourites that I didn't get photos of (despite trying) were the mara all piled up under a bench, the hoppy/jumpy vulture, seeing an alpaca for the first time, and the baby rhino.
