As I am now on goodreads, there are going to be some slight changes to how I track my books here, so they match up with my tracking on goodreads - so some short stories are going to count as books, and some omnibuses of several books are only going to count as one. With the short stories included, I have read quite a bit this month.

1: Tickling the English: a portrait of a people by an Irishman with baggage Dara O'Briain [Kindle]

Very funny, and also very informative. He was very nice about Bridlington, and about City Varieties here in Leeds - which always goes down well. It definitely cheered up my first few days back commuting in the cold.

2: Broadchuch: the end is where it begins (story 1) Chris Chibnall [Kindle - short story]

Good story fills in the gap between series 1 and 2 from Ellie Miller's point of view.

3: Broadchurch: the letter (story 2) Chris Chibnall [Kindle - short story]

Good story about the news editor, nice background on the place, and a good standalone story.

4: Superman: Red Son Mark Millar [print]

Very interesting twist on the Superman story, and brilliant artwork.

5: A Little Trigger Neil Gaiman [Kindle - short story]

Short story from Neil Gaiman's new collection. Cassandr very interesting twist in this tale.

6: Offshore Anne Cleeves [Kindle]

Great selection of short crime stories all set on islands. Some with establised detectives from her novels - such as Vera, and Jimmy Perez (Shetland). Didn't read the extract from her new Shetland novel - don't want to get into it before I have it.

7: Broadchurch: Old Friends (story 3) Chris Chibnall and Erin Kelly [Kindle - short story]

Good backstory to the prosecuting barrister and the newsagent - and who knew they were connected?

8: Broadchurch: Over the Side (story 4) Chris Chibnall and Erin Kelly [Kindle - short story]

I really enjoyed this one - it explains some of Alec Hardy's history, and why he ended up in Broadchurch.

The reason so much on the kindle this month - you can read/turn the pages without taking your mittens off. Perhaps this should be in their marketing!
