7: Mockingjay Suzanne  Collins (print)

Absolutely brilliant. Didn't want to put it down, or for it to end. Loved some of the twists and turns of the plot.

8: Taxi  Khaled Al Khamissi (print)

Really interesting read. A collection of imagined (but how imagined) conversations with the taxi drivers of Cairo, post-revolution. I enjoyed all the different perspectives.

9: Pop Goes the Weasel: the secret meanings of nursery rhymes Albert Jack (print)

Not just nursery rhymes - he also covers some traditional songs like 'Jerusalem' and 'The Skye Boat Song'. I found this book fascinating. I read it right through, but you could also dip into it, as the section on each rhyme/song is quite short.

10: The horologicon: a day's jaunt through the lost words of the English language Mark Forsyth (kindle)

Interesting and enjoyable - but then again I like words. Nice to see a Leeds dialect word in this one too (hurple - walking hunched up against the weather)

I found Hunger Games and Catching Fire pretty much unputdownable - I read both in a single siting - but Mockingjay was a real let-down in comparison. I felt it was poorly edited and left out or assumed too much.  It would have been better a little longer, I felt
