Shogun James Clavell

This is why I read so little in July. 1123 pages of this! Worth ever page though - this is proper epic. The characters and plot are wonderful - so much so that I want to know more, sadly though the next book in the series is set 200 years later - too long!
Torchwood: Skypoint Phil Ford

This is the first Torchwood spin-off I have read, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were right (so important in the spin-off books), and the plot was better than some of the episodes!
House of Shadows The Medieval Murders

The third in the series I started last month. This time though the central 'object' was a location, which changed the characters used somewhat - but not in a bad way. I really enjoyed this, particularly the linking between the prologue and epilogue.
Torchwood: The house that Jack built Guy Adams

Very, very good. Cleverly done. But, oh. Ianto ...
Queen of Silks Vanora Bennett

This was so much better than I was expecting. I was looking for a light historical read, but I found a book full of strong women and textile detail. Wonderful. This is well written with sympathy for both sides of the story. Definitely recommneded.
First among Sequels Jasper Fforde

I had been meaning to get round to reading this for a while, and finally managed it. I wish I hadn't - because I now have to wait aggggessss for the next one - I should have left this to fill the gap! I love the older Thursday, her family and most of all the bookworld. More please
