Watchmen

I loved this. Even though it was long, and somewhat slow in places, it was worth it. I hadn't read the book before I saw it (and still haven't, even though I have now bought it) - I liked the twist on the traditional superheroes, and the general darkness of this world. It still managed to be funny in places too. I thought the credits sequence with the stop-motion/slow moving photography is one of the best things I have ever seen. I was also very impressed with the soundtrack. Very shallowly, I want those boots, and the hair of either Silk Spectre ;)

Seabiscuit

I don't think I was in the right frame of mind to be watching this, as I suspect I would find it a perfectly fine film on another watching. As it was, I just couldn't get into this. There seemed to be a long time with no horses at all, and I never did get the connection between the opening bit and the racing. Ah well.

As an aside, having seen the trailers, I am very much looking forward to the new Star Trek and Wolverine films, and to Coraline.
