January Films

I haven't been to the cinema this month so all my film viewing has been courtesy of the tellybox.
Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit
I think I re-watched this because there was nothing else on. It isn't as good as Sister Act, but it isn't bad either. The music is at least good, and there are some very funny lines/scenes. It does for a wet/cold afternoon.
Finding Neverland
This I hadn't seen before, which was a shame, as it is a lovely film. Johnny Depp is excellent, Kate Winslet is good, the boys are not annoying! It is easy to forget that Peter Pan was a play, before it was a novel, and this was a good reminder of that. Nothing in the setting jarred as being too Hollywood. All in all a good movie.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone/Chamber of Secrets/Prisoner of Azkhban
Three saturday afternoons in a row Harry Potter was on ITV. So, I re-watched them, and I suspect I will re-watch them whenever they are on. No surprises, just good adaptations for the most part. Although in the most recent film I was reminded how badly they handled the Marauder's Map and the animagi aspect of the plot - or rather didn't handle it at all, which was a shame.
