32: The Sultan's Seal Jenny White

Really good - liked the plot and the characters very much and am looking forward to reading more of the series. The setting in late-Imperial Istanbul is interesting too.

33: The Lone Range and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven Sherman Alexie

This was the July discussion book for the book group. I found it utterly fascinating, and completely different from anything I have ever read before - which is the point of book group :) It is also beautifully written, which is perhaps unsurprising as Alexie is also a poet. It was well liked at book group, and gave us much to talk about.

34: Timetable of Death Edward Marson

Not sure where this sits in the series, but that didn't spoil my enjoyment of the plot. This is fast becoming one of my favourite series', as I love the characters and their interactions, which is an added bonus to good plots.

35: The Ides of April Lindsey Davis

This is the first in Lindsey Davis' second generation Falco series, with his adopted daughter Flavia Albia in the lead. I have previously listened to this book on CD, but it is different to read it. I do adore the sarcasm and phrasing that Davis gives to Albia, she is a thoroughly modern city girl. I also very much enjoy the plot and the new and old characters.

36: The Secret Dead S.J. Parris.

I love that this novella prequel to the Giordano Bruno series is numbered 0.5. Interesting story giving the origins both of Bruno's scientific knowledge, and the questioning nature that gets him into trouble with the Church, and leads him to his later mysteries.

37: Murder on the Eiffel Tower Claude Izner

Very enjoyable- although I hope the main character, Victor, calms down a bit, he is a little over-excitable. Nonetheless he grew on me, and I would definitely want to read more of this series. Very cunning plot with good twists.
